Landscape architecture & fine gardens, crafted to transform spaces into experiences.
Landscapes woven from place & story
Every Nicholas Pembroke Design garden begins with a sense of place — your place. We listen carefully to the architecture, the climate, and the people who live within it, shaping landscapes that feel deeply personal and true to their setting. Our gardens balance structure with softness, clarity with complexity, creating spaces that connect home and nature in a way that feels timeless and enduring. Guided by a calm, collaborative process and a trusted network of craftsmen, we bring ideas to life with care, creativity, and quiet confidence.
From concept
to creation
Every extraordinary garden begins with a thoughtful process. We guide each project from initial idea to living, crafted landscape - with care, creativity, and collaboration at every step.
-
Contact us to arrange an initial site consultation where we will get to know the space, discuss with you your scope, budget and desired outcome for the garden and we will share our preliminary thoughts.
-
After the initial site consultation, we move on to the design phase. During this stage, we focus on problem-solving, developing and implementing a design style for the garden, gathering the necessary materials, making a return visit to the site to test the design, and addressing any other design-related aspects. We continue this process until we've crafted a finely-tailored design that perfectly aligns with our clients' preferences and showcases our expertise.
After designing, we will host a presentation talking you through the design and vision for your space. At this presentation, you will receive a computer drafted masterplan, 3D sketch renders, material palettes, plant palettes and design imagery.
-
Should your works require a Development Application or CDC we have extensive experience in submitting the required documentation to council and can coordinate the whole process, allowing you to relax knowing you are in safe hands.
Post concept design there will likely be construction details required. These may include a detailed plating plan, lighting plan, set out plans, construction drawings of hardscape elements such out outdoor kitchens or pergolas and anything else required to provide a fool proof set of documentation to sub-contractors that will ensure the garden is installed exactly as it was intended.
-
When it comes to installation, we have a preferred list of landscapers who we regularly partner with. Of course, this is not to say that we wouldn’t be more than happy to work with yours if you have a landscaper already.
We are a part of the whole process, this means we will manage the project right through the installation period and be involved every step of the way.
We ensure that we are attending the key installation dates so we are present for any questions that the landscaping team might have.
